For us, values are not just inspirational words painted on the office wall. At Mojo, they are used daily and help shape the culture, guide decision-making, and make the right hires as we scale.

At the company All Hands, we award our values and learning champions to look after our company mascots that week.

SALAD is a helpful abbreviation to remember our five values:

Seize the opportunity, pay for pace.

We value moving at pace and are willing to pay for that.

The opportunity in front of us is unfathomable, and the way we win the colossal men’s sexual wellbeing space is through the speed of execution. We look for opportunities to save time over money. And we move with a sense of urgency because we know something others don’t. We know our users, we know this space, and we know we are first movers with the opportunity to be to sexual wellbeing, what Uber was to taxis, AirBnB was to hotels, Headspace was to mental wellbeing, and Spotify was to the music industry. Transformative.

Alignment, over false harmony.

We value alignment and are willing to sacrifice harmony to reach commitment.

At Mojo, creating alignment and calling out misalignment is everyone's job. This means, everyone listens actively. Not passively, waiting for our turn to speak. We don’t wait to be called on or asked. We all debate candidly, directly, passionately and respectfully.

We do not make decisions by committee. So, once a decision is reached, we commit whole-heartedly, no matter the side of the discussion we started on.

Long-term value, over short-term gains.

We prioritize long-term value and are willing to give up short-term or isolated gains to achieve it.

At Mojo, we are building a company to change how society interacts with sexual wellbeing. That means we don’t just make decisions for next month or next quarter. We make them for the next generation. We make decisions that ensure there is a company here long after we are not.

Autonomy, with accountability.

We value autonomy and are responsible for our work.

At Mojo, everyone is trusted to execute and own pieces of work. Operating autonomously within a culture of psychological safety means we’re comfortable stepping up, acting in an entrepreneurial way, and being accountable for our work.

Daringly authentic, even when vulnerable.

We value being authentic and are willing to be vulnerable to uphold that.

Mojo was born out of a vulnerable conversation, so naturally, we believe in the benefits of being open and authentic with each other. This kind of authenticity is the first building block of our psychologically safe, inclusive, no-bullshit culture.
