Shared Parental Leave and Pay enables new parents to choose how to share your statutory time off work after your child has arrived. Opting into Shared Parental Leave & Pay replaces any Maternity/Paternity or Adoptive leave. It must be agreed by both parents and taken in no more than 3 blocks of unbroken leave.

You can take up to 39 weeks of Shared Parental Pay (less any weeks of Maternity or Adoptive Pay claimed by you or the other parent - which must be at least two weeks)

To qualify for Shared Parental Pay:

  1. You have been continuously employed by the Company for at least 26 weeks at the end of the Qualifying Week (15 Weeks before expected week of birth or week you are matched).
  2. You meet the average weekly earnings limit (£120pw as of April 2020) for National Insurance contributions in the eight weeks up to and including the QW.
