Startups are hard work. At Mojo, we believe you need time to relax and recharge to make the elbow grease sustainable. With 36 days of paid leave each year, we’re proud to be among the top 25% of UK employers offering generous leave.
Holiday Entitlement
- 36 Days Paid Holiday: Every full-time team member gets 36 days of paid holiday annually, including their local, national holidays.
- E.g. UK team, 28 days plus 8 national holidays
- E.g. US team, 27 days plus 9 national holidays
- International Team Members: For those outside the UK, you can substitute your national holidays for UK national holidays. Or, in the instance that they do not coincide with UK national holidays, take them as extra leave days.
- Part-Time Team Members: If you’re part-time, your holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Mandated or Extra Leave
- Take a Break: All work and no play is not good for you and not good for us. We highly encourage you to take at least 5 days holiday per quarter and will be pushing you out of the door if you go for extended periods of time without leave.
- Need More Time Off? Once-in-a-life-time trip? Honeymoon? If you run out of paid holiday, you can request unpaid leave. Just chat with your manager, and we’ll do our best to accommodate, keeping business needs in mind.
Reimbursement & Rollover
If you don’t use all your vacation you don’t lose it. You can choose between rollover and reimbursement. All you have to do is let our Finance Director know before the end of the year.
- Unused Days? Get Paid: Didn’t use all your holiday? We’ll reimburse you for up to 5 unused days at the end of the year. To qualify, make sure you’ve taken at least 23 days of paid holiday during the year.
- Carry Over Days: You can roll over up to 5 unused holiday days into the next year. Just remember to use them within the first quarter.
Booking Your Holiday
- Plan Ahead: Please submit your holiday requests as early as possible. This helps us plan and ensures everything runs smoothly while you’re away.
As a general rule of thumb, please give at least double the notice to the length of your holiday:
- 1 day of leave ⇒ 2 days notice
- 1 week of leave ⇒ >2 weeks notice
- Approval Process: All holiday requests need your manager’s approval. We’ll consider team schedules and workloads to make sure everything’s covered.
If you have any questions or need more details, feel free to speak to your manager or one of the leadership team.
